More Targeted Traffic, Sales and Leads for Your Internet Business [Podcast #003]

In this episode of the Lance Tamashiro Show we are going to be talking about TRAFFIC.  Most importantly, I hope that you can change your mindset about traffic, this one small shift in my thinking really changed my my online business.

  • Start looking at your return on investment when you are looking for traffic sources.  Are "1 cent clicks" great?  Well, I guess it depends.  If those clicks are resulting in sales then you are just wasting time, effort and money.
  • Track your traffic by source, results and ROI.  One of the tools that we use in our business is LinkTrackr.
  • Instant commission affiliate programs are an excellent way to generate large amounts of new buyers, get "buzz" for your product and build a high quality list.  If you would like to use the exact system that I use then visit Setup an Affiliate Program.
  • Facebook advertising can be extremely powerful, but you need to know how to take a few extra minutes setting up your campaigns and actually targeting and tracking correctly.
  • Ad retargeting is extremely low cost and highly effective.  Find out how you can have your ad shown on some of the biggest sites on the internet ONLY to people that have visited your site.  We use a service called AdRoll.

Lance, what about driving traffic from Kindle? I’m unclear on how to best do this. Thanks.

    Hey Lance!
Love your high-energy intro music. Mindset shifts are critically important to our success as entrepreneurs – and getting rid of “old thinking” or habitual patterns of thinking can be one of the most important moves we make to ensure more success in 2013.

I completely agree with you on the whole Google dance…we can spend our lives adjusting to Google’s every move! Good info on targeting advertising.

Lance, thanks for the show. I love the 20% concept. I’ve always looked for free, but as you say, dropping something into the pot, helps to keep generating more sales.

    Thanks for the tip!

What I tell people is that Google is a constantly moving target, so you have to be willing to keep updated in terms of what it’s doing–because like it or not, part of doing business, whether online or offline, is letting people find you for the service they need from you.

What I like most about this podcast is its underlying thought–which is to approach your business as a business. I think most of us come into online marketing with the “I’m going to make some money fast” perspective. If, instead, it’s a business, with a long-term plan, my perspective immediately shifts. With just about any business, there’s a period of “planting seeds”, followed by the harvest. Thanks, Lance, for reminding us of this.

Thank you for this podcast and your products. I have 3 of them. I know that seeting up an affilate program is the next step for me to grow my business. The truth is that the tech part always stops me.
In 2013 I will not let it stop me. Thank you for your time. May you and you family have wonderful New Year

Lance, Your tips and lessons on running an internet business are amongst the clearest and easiest to implement I’ve seen (heard). This particular lesson contains the important lesson to not let your business be based on the whims of search engine algorithms but place it on a solid basis. All the best and have a great holiday!

    Hey Lance,

Love the tips and especially the links to resources that you use. I had not heard of LinkTrackr before so definitely going to check that one out.

I am also looking into Facebook advertising this year and would love to hear more about your experiences there.. maybe another podcast dedicated to PPC? Comparing Adwords to Facebook ads? Just a thought as I know many of us are tired of relying on the whims of Google like you said.

    Thanks, Richard

    Hey Lance, Great Podcast!

Thank you for being willing to impart your experience to us and thank you especially for sharing some of your resources with us. I really do appreciate it.

On the Linktrakr resource, I’ve been using a plugin called Ninja Affiliate to track my links. Do you know if there is a substantial difference between the two?

Thanks again and I’m looking forward to many more podcasts from you and to wishing you and yours Merry Christmas many, many more times!
