Time To “Rethink” Your Business
Hey everybody, Lance Tamashiro here, and today I want to talk to you about why you need to be thinking about having a recurring income for your online business. Now, a lot of people that I know and that I’ve worked with in the past think “Oh I’m just going to work really, really hard on this one cool ebook, I’m going price it at $7 dollars and everybody in the world is going to come buy it, and I’ll just be rich! The truth is that’s not the case. The whole key on making money on the Internet is to build a recurring income.
The Key to Long Term Income
Now, that’s the big point here. Everything else that you do is just spinning your wheels, if you’re not thinking of making a recurring income then all that you’re really doing is doing the same thing that you’re doing in your day job, you’re trading your time for dollars, and what you really want to do is get to the point where you basically put up a membership site, get something that’s recurring and get paid for it over and over again.
Niche Is Not Important
Now, the one thing that I really want to stress to everybody here is that your niche is not important. Now, a lot of people think, well, I can only make recurring income in internet marketing, I can only make income trying to teach people how to play the guitar, that’s not the truth! The truth is, is that if you have anything at all to teach or a service to give, then, you can start your own membership site.
Every Successful Business Model Is Based On “Memberships”
How do I know this? Well, look around you! Every single business model that is successful both online and offline is based around a membership model. I want you to change the way you think about memberships right now, today!
A membership is not just something where you get new content every month. Its something where you get to bill people every month either for your information or your service, and let me give you a couple of examples, I bet the majority of you have a cellphone. Guess what? That is a membership site, they have a fix term length, usually it’s like two years and you have to pay over and over and over again. Guess what I bet you most of you have landline service if you don’t have a cell phone service. That too is a form of a recurring membership site.
Do you own a car? I bet you make car payments. Do you own a house? Or pay rent? All of those are types of membership sites, and all examples of things that you can do to trade your time for dollars that are recurring instead of one to one, you want to look at this as one to many.
Building A Membership Site Is Not Hard!
I’ve recently pulled my list and the big thing that I found is that people thought, well Lance this is way too hard! It’s way too hard to setup a recurring membership site, its way to hard to get people to pay me time and time again for my information and I want to tell you right now, that’s false! You need to change the way you’re thinking about this.
Content – Am I An Expert?
So, one of the big things that I found out is that people said, Lance, I don’t have any contents. Am I an expert in anything? How am I going to get people to pay me over and over and over again? Well the truth is that if you know anything at all, then you’re an expert.
One of the big things, especially in the Internet marketing industry that people forget is that there is a huge learning curve. So, even if you just know how to put up a squeeze page, even if you know just how setup an autoresponder, even if you just know a good program, an affiliate program to promote, all of those are information that somebody just getting started doesn’t know that you had to learn and that’s enough information that makes you an expert on somebody, and that’s the key to learning more and more and being able to charge more and more for your membership site.
It’s Not Too Technical!
The second thing that people told me is that it’s way too technical to setup a membership site. Again, false! All you need to know is Wordpress, you need to have the right plug-ins and you need to have the right scripts. This is cheap, this is easy to do, and it’s not hard at all. Even if you just re-think your model and rethink of your autoresponder as a membership, then guess what? You have the ability to make a recurring income and a membership site.
Stop Over Thinking!
So, what I basically want all you guys to do today is to stop overthinking this! It is true, the key to a successful online business or business in the offline world is recurring income but it doesn’t have to be as hard as you’re making it. You don’t need fancy scripts. You don’t need a ton of information.
You Only Need To Be One Step Ahead
All you need to do is to start at the point where you’re at, whether it’s beginning guitar. Remember, if you’re learning guitar, you know something more than somebody that is just getting started, and you have something to teach that person. You don’t have to fill-up an entire membership site for years and years when you don’t even have a member, and that is something that is really, really bothers me. The truth is you only have to be one step ahead of your first member.
So, if you have a membership site, why would you spend a year building up content when you don’t even have somebody paying you yet? Wouldn’t it be a better idea to make weeks worth of content, find that first member and always stay one day, or one week, or one month ahead of that one person? It’s been told on the Internet that the average lifespan of a membership site is two to four months, so let’s round it up and call it three months.
If the average time that somebody stays in a membership is only three months why are so many of you spending months and months and months building six months, one year, two years of content? All you need to do is stay one step ahead of your longest subscriber. In that way you’re not spinning your wheels. You can start bringing in money while you’re increasing your own knowledge and starting to bring money into your online business
Where Are You?
So, with that being said, I want to know where you’re at today. I want to know what kind of site you have. Do you have a membership site setup? I bet you, if you think hard enough, you probably do. Let me give you a perfect example.
A couple of week ago I was with my friend Robert Plank, hanging out in North Carolina, and we started to have this whole discussion where we were talking about what is a membership site. What constitute a membership site? What “officially makes it” so that I have a membership site, and you want to know what we came up with? It’s that all of these big terms that people are throwing around are untrue.
The only thing that you need to have a membership site is to charge one person one payment or more, and that makes it a membership site. It can be fixed term, it can be open ended, but think about the example like I gave you earlier. You have a car payment, you know exactly how many payments you’re going to have to make until that membership ends and you own the car. If you have an ebook that you sell for $97, guess what if you’re having trouble selling it at $97, make it two payments of $47 and suddenly you have a membership site. So, stop over thinking it, but I want to know do you have a membership site?
What Is Your Membership Site?
Finally, what is your membership site? If you think you have any sort of product at all, you have a membership site, and another thing that I want to tell you is that I personally own a membership site that is made completely of other people’s products. That’s right, I took master resell rights, private label rights, and different types of products, threw them up all on a single website and I charge people month after month after month to get access to these. So, without even owning your own product, you can successfully start your own membership site.
What is your Retention Rate?
Finally, one of the most important things that you need to know about your membership site is what is that retention rate? And how long do people stay in, and it’s sort of like what I was talking about earlier, what is the purpose of having a hundred days worth of content, if you only keep people on average for 30 days? You’ve just wasted 70 days worth of time, of content that people would never see.
Wouldn’t it be better to restructure that content so that you can build over and over and over, or stretch it out so that you can only have content for the amount of time that people are going to see it?
Lots of Easy Solutions!
So, the main point that I’m driving home here is that there’s lots and lots or easy solutions! In fact Robert Plank and I have six proven models that we use over and over again to build recurring income, and most people just think of us as like these “Products Creators” that’s people that are always pimping out new things but the truth is, is that we try to put everything we can into a recurring income because we would rather do the work once and get paid for it many times, than do the work once and get paid for it once, and that’s what I want to encourage you to do.

Hi Lance,
First of all that was a very exciting message concerning membership sites. Nice work.
Second, My idea for my first membership site is to use all of the MRR and PLR I have and put it all together on one site. My hangup is with the logistics and technical aspects.
Third, I’ve also accumulated a load of info re: IM and I’m thinking about putting together and autoresponder membership. Again it’s about logistics and the tech stuff to make it happen.
Hello….I’ve created an advertising business where I produce what I call, “Employee Discount Cards”.
These are in the shape of regular business cards (2 by 3.5) but there are “Ad Squares” with a business Logo and their discount offer in each square.
I usually make 4 ad squares across and 3 or 4 down on each card panel. My Cards are usually double-cards that fold over, so I get 30 or so ad squares on each card. (30 businesses)
The businesses pay me for an ad square on my cards.
I print up 1,000 to 2,000 cards for each Town and give the cards to Employers (like Hospitals, Mfg Cos, Realtors and other offices) The Employers then give the card to their Employees as a Gift from them.
It’s a Win-Win all the way around. Employers win (they give a Gift to their workers)…Employees win (they get good discounts at local businesses)…Participating Businesses win…(it costs them money to participate BUT, they get more business from employees buying from them)…and I win (I make a nice chunk of change from each edition)
Because of the High Unemployment this year I’m getting ready to sell a “Starter Kit” that helps others get into this business.
And…I’d like to set up a Membership program where those who bought my “Kits” can get continuous help and advice.
Let me know when the webinar is.
Thank you,
Don Alm

Hi Lance,
Very good video, and I am just busy exactly with this idea, want to start right now. I have my niche, I do have knowhow to share, and I even have some who already subscribe to my monthly coaching in that niche (without a membership site but I promised that I will have it soon coming…)
What holds me back? Mainly these points:
1) lack of technical knowhow, meaning, I never yet installed a membership software, payment modules, mailing list software, etc. so I need to go through it once at least, and get the step by step idea – or get someone helping me, leading me through. I already installed WP.
2) which WP theme is best? I spent hours looking for the one which is good for a membership site, where I would also have a knowledge base, forum, etc. not just a blog.
Jason Fladlien’s advices are great, I have his products. He recommends Thesis, which seems a good one, but I am not sure!
Or a magazine theme from Woothemes or studiopress? Or a blog type of theme? Or cms?
3) aside of my existing niche clients and interested people on a small list, how do I reach out to the general public? I have a back-off on that… so far I only work with people I know personally
4) hang up on NAMING, branding my services – is that important, or can one just name it whatever, after the activity itself? like http://www.howtoblablabla.com?
These are my main questions – thanks in advance for any advice!

Hi Lance,
Totally agree with you. I started my first membership site last summer. It’s fixed term (4 months based with 1 new lesson every week). I advertised this site to a small list of 200 people. With almost 40 people to register for the site on the first month, I am already able to pay my rent plus a little extra. not bad for a begining.
Because of adding a 1 time offer to sell my book it adds a little more extra to my monthly income.
I am in a very tiny niche which I exploite in French language, and I am happy to discover that 80% of the members stay for the whole programme of 4 month. Therefore, I a m thinking of offering another 4 month training, like level 2 for example, and may be I can start the program in english.
I started with a very simple membership, and added a higher “privilege” level for some members who wanted to be able to download the lessons. That’s another extra in my income.
The most interesting thing, is that I don’t advertise at all, and I really think my site which is wordpress based, could be much better designed and organized than it is right now.
Now, I am really lookgin forward to attending your seminar and listen to what you have to say that I can implement quickly.
Since I bought your Niche invasion program this week, I know I’ll get value from you presentation. So make sure you keep my sit warm for the webinar.
Cheers
Olivier
hi lance good video-look forward to the webinar
Lance,
Your video makes a lot of sense. I have gotten into too many coaching plans to start with. “Do it this way; No, do it this way”. I have only recently began learning HOW to organize a web site through use of an auto responder, squeeze page, OTO, and Thank You page. I don’t have them on a site yet, but it is starting to make some sense. I didn’t know the order of what to do, nor how to do it step-by-step. I still may not have all the pieces, but I’m going to try and put one together, AND IT WILL BE A MEMBERSHIP SITE. I really want to see your webinar to pick up any info that might help me get started. I’m getting anxious to get started. I’ve been suffering from overload since shortly after November and haven’t gotten anything up and running yet. I have passed through the frustration stage and now I need to get on with it or get out. Thanks again for the insight.
Harry
Hi Lance,
Met you in NC at Warrior Forum–was good to see you in person. I am totally interested in membership sites. What’s holding me back…hmm…just need a step-by-step easy to follow system I guess. I am in that “information overload” stage.:) lol I am promoting someone else’s membership site right now-link is above.
Would love to here webinar. Thanks for all your great content and videos!
Hi
Really interesting concept, also obvious (but not before listening to you) that I have something I could do as a membership site.
The website address above is not it (I have other ideas for that), if you have looked at the site you will know that I have loads of sales and marketing knowledge. Seem to me that I could easily build a membership site, either for starting a new business or building an existing one. I have got a website on the way that will sell ‘things’, but (perhaps adding?)or running separately, a series of monthly ‘how to’s, I think would work well.
Why haven’t I done it? Lack of know how I guess.
Complete Newbie…don’t even know how to start or create a webpage. Would like to know where to begin. Looking forward to the webinar.
Hi Lance,
I’ve got a membership site…
http://www.chineseweightlosssystem.com/
The squeeze page gets sign-ups, but apparently the sales page sucks… no one signs up. I followed a template for the sales page just to get it up quickly, so I’m in the process of re-writing it.
But, enough about me… how the hell did you do that video? Very cool effect!
Bob
I’ve heard most of this stuff before, but it’s good to get a reminder. I’ve held off starting a membership site because I have too little time and have other projects ahead in the queue, but I really like the idea of having a continuity program. I’m very intrigued by your solution to the problem with all membership software as I’ve researched various membership scripts and plugins previously and am curious to what you came up with that isn’t already available.
First the info in the video was great, just like harry i am coming out of the overload stage. Yes i would like very much to start a membership site. I have had to go so many different places to learn what was missing from a lot of so called this is the last program you will ever need, they all were missing one or more key points which causes over thinking and waste time so if you have the right steps form start to finish i wont to know its true 3 months no more than 6 is the average for membership site but if you know how to set it all up why create just one
Hey Lance.
You have hot the nail exactly on the head for me.
For far too long I personally have tried to over-complicate things.
However, I hope that I have now gotten my head “around some things” and am taking only the necessary steps to move forward in my business.
I am currently researching a few more things about a sub-niche in the health industry that I NEVER dreamed was so popular.
I actually came across it due to the fact that two of my family members suffer with it, and I have to deal with it directly daily. It actually impacts MY life also, so I have learned much about it.
But, with a particular talent I have that is relevant to this “issue” I really feel that I can provide EXCELLENT value in a short term membership for people who struggle with this “health issue” daily.
I am in the beginning stages of determining my exact “blueprint” so to speak – I.E.- exact method of conferring content, levels of membership, etc.
I really don’t have a hang-up at this point since I realize that I have “Thanks much.
Looking forward to your webinar.
Hey Lance great video!
I agree people do really over complicate membership sites as with many other online task.
A great way to start a membership site would be to figure out something that requires several small steps then create content for each of those steps instead of looking at the big overwhelming picture of “I got to make all this content”
There is always a fixed term membership site, so if you only have a few months worth of stuff, allow the payments to stop after a few months (micro-continuity).
As always thanks for the great advice!
Jeff Bode
Hi Lance,
Have been planning to get to it for a long time, but always
have too much to do, so I have never gotten to it- Hoping
that your seminar will provide some answers for the fastest,
easiest, BEST way to implement !
Lance,
Great video on the fallacies of membership sites. I currently don’t have a membership site but I would like to start one that focuses on helping small businesses market themselves in their local areas.
I do have some PLR that I could use to put it together but I will listen in on your webinar to see what other tips I can get before doing it.
Patrick
Hey Lance,
Beautiful insight!
If you are going to take a sneek pick at my PO Boxes, as told in the video, you’ll be surprised for the “big mistakes”. But I have other sites, too, and they are quite different.
The most important, however, is that your video is loaded with a deep understanding of what a membership site is and its “surroundings”. When you spill your guts (so to say) you really spill them!
I hope many people will come to this page and enrol, because they will get the best on the subject.
And thanks for the emails I’ve been collecting from you!
Best wishes,
PT
Hey Lance,
loved this presentation and how you superimposed yourself into the video with the powerpoint as your background whiteboard…cool!
I’m just in the process of setting up two of these sites right now. I previously had them set up as static blogs and slaes pages but no real action (or money from them). They are in the real estate niche in which I’m an authority having worked as a very successful agent and realty pro for many years. In fact I’ve built an entire unique real estate portal in WPMU which is so cool,.. and it really rocks even though I have quite a few bells and whistles to add. So my holdup hasn’t been technical because I have all the skill and outsourcing knowhow I need. The holdup has been lack of action plan, wrong business model and platform and a little trepidation thrown in. I’ve written an ebook that focuses on Realty marketing online but now I intend to break it up into video content and put it into the membership site…which then will point towards the other realty portal (a services site) that once rolling could really rock the industry (or those that start to use it) because it will be very inexpensive and yet produce powerful results.
You can probably tell I’m getting pumped about this and hope to attend your webinar….only thing is that it broadcasts at 5.30am my local time and I usually rise around 9am as generally I have late nights till 2am because I can get plenty done when the kids are in bed!
@ariane,.. I highly recommend Studio Press themes (I love Lifestyle) and I also have Thesis which is great. Woo themes I’d reckon would be great too but I’ve never worked with them.
You can buy a WP membership plugin (many are fantastic) but as Robert has mentioned..you can also set up a membership site with free plugins and some on board WP Admin tools anyway.
Cheers again Lance,.. you and Robert are wayyy cool!
Hi Lance,
I’m working with a real estate with a lot of experience in teaching and no technical skill (none at all), so we’re putting together an online training course for beginner investors. Yes, it’ll be a membership site.
He has no list where we can get started for the launch, so that’s going to be a challenge.
We’re considering several models such as just a regular monthly subscription, having “semesters” and make the classes 3-4 months in length, or having different levels of membership.
We don’t have a site yet (at least for this site purpose), but we’re working on creating a ton of free content to create a list (We have a live seminar we’ll be filming with professional camera crew, etc)
I can’t wait to hear your webinar and get some ideas.
Thanks a bunch
Al Mangones
Hey Lance.
Look forward to the webinar. My holdup is the technical stuff. Looking forward to what I can learn.
Thanks,
Jim
Hello there lance,
I have no website yet. I am on information overload.
Everyone seems to have the biggest and the best products to offer. I am sooooo confused of where to begin. wow
Is it possible to start a business online for little costs?
Living in Calif. I have lost it all. Home and all. No job.
Enough of my drama. Where do I begin to start making real $$?
Thank you,
Alicia
Hi Lance
I’ve been on your excellent webinars before. No fluff or waffle to strech them out. Trouble is they are often on very early in the morning for me in the UK. So thank you for the last one being at a sensible evening time for me. As you don’t record them I have to be there or miss out. Any chance of doing more for our time zone please?
Most tasks are not complicated – once it’s been discovered what to do and practiced how to do them. The task of setting sites up is infequent for the newbie so that learning by repetition comes slowly. Most instructions on how to do them miss bits out due to familiarity. These are some of my technical hang ups.
I know all can be outsourced. Provided you are confident that there will be a return on investment that’s fine. If you can afford it in the first place.
I know from other courses that if you set a time limit on a membership sequence, as in fixed term memberships, then retention is far greater than open ended membership sites.
So a 6 month sequence should be possible for the majority of members.
Even the Stompernet Faculty came unstuck with a membership site. So not all is as easy, sweet and rosie as is sometimes made out.
I’ve not yet got a membership site but I know it makes sense to do one or several.
Thanks and good luck
Tony
Hey Lance, good presentation, very informative, and I also loved the format.
I’ve got an idea about how to quiet your inner critic so you can get done what you want to do. Doing it as a membership would be way cool.
I’m looking forward to the webinar.
Dr Cliff
Hi
I have a membership site with around 150 members but they are all free, any ideas for earning any money from them?
Julie
I am very intrested in this info I have been looking at making a fitness/martial arts program for online.
I’m interested to learn more about membership sites.
HI lance…I always love your material and what you have to offer…I like the fact that you teach people the right things to do and not steer them in the wrong direction. I have a Game site wich has a built in member system, but I want to have a seperate membership are that the members can join and get all kinds of Game updates and Game news and much more…I’m so looking forward to your webinar.
Thanks again for being a big help
Rob
Hello, this is just what I have been looking for.
I lack the technical knowledge of how to setup a membership site, but I want one… probably more than one.
I also have a problem deciding on a niche.
I’m thinking of offering internet marketing tips to my local area and have them site up to my membership site.
think they’ll pay for something like that?
also don’t know what to charge.
can’t wait to attend the webinar!
thanks!
Hi Lance,
Very fresh and helpful perspective on membership sites. I don’t have one, but I’d like to. You already know what’s been holding me back so I won’t go into it here.
I would love to attend the webinar so do send me the information please!
This is the first time I have even considered a membership site and I am now seeking ideas (watching your video)and reading all I can find on the subject. I look forward to your webnar.
Rich
I dont have a membership site and thought it something beyond be. The usual ‘content’ and ‘technical’ issues.
Not sure what market I would go in yet – maybe IM or perhaps a sporting niche where I have a product already on sale.
Will have to think differently now since you’re dead right – how different is it to an email list, how hard is it to split all my internet marketing notes and tips from the past couple of years and drip feed the information… not at all.
Hey Lance,
Another great video, as always…
I’ve been struggling with my membership site, in the MRR + PLR niche. I been offering free previews with good reviews, but can’t seem to close them on becoming a paid member.
I feel I’m close to cracking it, but not there yet.
So I’m looking forward to your webinar, Thanks, Mike
Hi Lance:
Love your perspective on this concept – it simplifies the idea. I have had an idea for a membership site for some time now, but it looks complicated to set it up. It is a weekly lesson for those who are Sunday School teachers. I have checked some forums on this and it seems there is a great lack of good, real Bible-based teaching. My other question is, how to get the word out.
Look forward to the webinar and your answer.
Hey Lance… looking forward to the webinar you and I are doing soon.
Takeaways:
1. You’re never going to get rich from just ONE product, especially an e-book.
2. “Recurring income” doesn’t nececssarily have to be a monthly membership site… you can have a single payment membership site with upsells.
3. Even an autoresponder is a membership (just add some bonuses)
4. You only have to be one step ahead of your first member.
5. Don’t bother creating 100 days of content if people only stay on for 30 days!
You and I have a bunch of membership sites together… Product University, IM Productivity Secrets, List Copywriting, and those are just the monthly ones. All our group webinar classes are inside 1-pay or 2-pay membership sites.
Hi Lance,
I’ve been thinking about setting up some kind of membership site about one specific sport. This would mean providing both historic info and new info as the season progresses.
Looking forward to your webinar and hearing about your six models.
Thanks, Myriam
Lance,
You’re correct as usual. I’ve already shot several hours of video to use in a membership site following Russell Brunson’s MicroContinuity model. But of course you are correct about where I’m getting hung up now. The next step of the process is getting someone to design a website following Russell’s formats, so I’ve been planning to go to RentACoder or Elance. I can do a bit of html on my own, but mostly modifying existing templates. I’m not quite ready to start with a blank screen for all the pages required. That’s what puts me at the mercy of some coder again.
Most of the projects I have posted on services like RAC have been done on time, more or less, but often slip and quite often the coder finds something I have to have that I’ve left out of the requirement, so he comes back for more money. If there’s a way to run a MicroC project in WordPress, I definitely want to know about it.
My current and only membership site is not for training or parceling out content. It is a community type site for people trained to do a kind of psychological process related to hypnosis and NLP. Members pay me each month to have what amounts to a very elaborate online brochure where they can announce events and attract clients. Applying these techniques to different personal situations will be the basis for the MicroC project also.
Building this site has been a learning experience. That really means it has taken way longer than I thought it would to get it like it should be, and it has cost way more than I imagined to have a programmer constantly refining it. I’m almost 100% there now but what a pain! This site is:
http://www.TOCLeaders.com
I am not only the owner but am also a member since I practice and teach the techniques:
http://www.TOCLeaders.com/David
I’m looking forward to your webinar.
David
Looking forward to the webinar too
Thanks for the valuable information Lance.
I think you and Robert are light years ahead in quality content than all other IM’ers out there. You should be charging more for this content, but I am glad you are not
I wanted to let you know that when I read your article I was quite impressed. I too am experienced in the field of digital marketing, as well as in home loan processes. One of the biggest problems any entrepreneur faces, whether online or offline is the fact that they are afraid …
Sometimes their fear keeps them from taking the first step toward success. Often however, even after the first step, they are afraid to continue walking, moving forward tenaciously.
When you said, “What I basically want all you guys to do today is to stop overthinking this! … You don’t need fancy scripts. You don’t need a ton of information” you reiterated the sentiments I convey to others every day. When you see that something is right, that it will work, you simply move forward faithfully, without fear.
I loved the entire article. I will suggest it to others here in Utah, and across the net.
Thank you,
Skylar, Score Home Loans
This is great! Looking forward for the Webinar.
Robert Plank is champ when it comes to churning out new products.
Would love see what you both bring to the table in this Webinar.
Thanks again,
Ajay Ghanekar.
Hi Lance,
Nice! I love how you remind us that membership sites don’t have to all look the same. I have membership sites without realizing it!
OK – less thinking, more action. Thanks, as always, for your excellent information and ‘tell it like it really is’ presentation.
I started the Social Power Net, a free, social web site a while ago and have quite a number of members now. Many have an interest in online marketing, want to sell some products or services. I have noticed quite a number of things they could be doing better and would like to offer some form of sales support service which these members would be able to try first and if they get the extra results they were hoping for, would become paying members of my service. I am still at the conceptual stage but am getting closer to starting with the actual implementation of the idea …
Lance….
Cool info….I am about to embark on two membership sites using the exact same formula that you and Robert use…one is and existing site that I am going to convert to membership and the other is a brand new product that I am going to use ebook on the front end and videos/webinars/other content on the inside…
I have been on a few of your webinars and belong to a couple of your membership sites…you guys HAVE the right ideas and are a good model to follow.
Believe it or not, the two sites I belong to right now, I use as resources pretty much on a daily basis…GREAT INFO….I look forward to implementing video into my marketing arsenal starting very soon.
Keep up the FANTASTIC work and thanks for all of your help through emails!
Planning and action is where I am at the moment Lance. Having no staff I have to do everything myself and not mention outsourcing at this stage because it would take just as long to have to explain things to someone else, as well as monitor what they do. A membership site is the perfect model to strive at , no doubt. Content creation is my thing now and getting products in my digital store advertised. Presently compiling a product list data base for easy referencing, takes time and yes I have saved my root domain for a membership site, just a wee bit more time that’s all. Great email I did open it.
Muchos Gracias, I am learning to write and speak español for the good people of Suda America. Espero tengas un buen dia. (I hope you have a nice day.) Hasta pronto.
“Wow “that, was “great”,, Lannce the way you define, a membership site. I been looking at this,, all wrong way making it seem a lot harder than it is.Or the way that, you simplerfy it. You put in terms one can understand it lance.Thank you for giving me New hope in Internet Marketing Membership sites.I have, & I presume others, over complicate things. Thanks again Lance
Hi Lance,
Great video and I like the ‘Paint by numbers’ backing music!
I have a few succesful online re0curring mini businesses and I’m planning a drip feed membership site. And you are 100% correct. Whilst planning what conetnt I’m going to deliver I just look back at the papers and think wow, thats a lot of content I have to create.
I planned on a 6 month site but maybe I could condense that into 3 months at double the price! But the problem I had, and I had to think long and hard about this, is to answer the question – why am I creating this membership site in the first place?
Why would I spend lots of time and energy into creating this unique content.
I sat down with a piece of paper and wrote down all the reasons why I would want to do this.
The reason was…
To sell a ‘unique idea’, my unique method of making money and business on the internet.
The plan for the membership site itself is only to develop those people who are truly 100% ready to buy into the ‘big idea’ that works. Any profits from the menbership site itself would be irrelevant at first… It would simply be a means of ‘training’ responsive members who are serious about buying into the big idea that works.
I’m now confident that a membership site is the way to go but I will take your no-nonsense advise about only staying one step ahead, instead of 10 steps.. You may have just saved me 3 months!
Cheers Lance.
Hey John,
What is stopping you from launching your site?
You do not need to have 6 or 3 months of content ready if you don’t have anyone in the membership.
Why not launch it and just stay a week or two ahead of the first member?
That way you can start generating revenue immediately… if not sooner.
Lance
Hi Lance,
I’ve bought some of your products in the past and they are always better than typical rehashed crap of Internet marketers these days.
I’d like to ask you about membership site for search engine optimization. Would it be enough (e.g. how-to articles and videos about on-site page optimization, off-site, landing pages optimization for PPC campaigns etc) or should it expand more to say broad Internet marketing?
And I couldn’t get to seminar. Any replay available (you promise that at the end of your video above?
Thanks, Matt
Lance,
Nice videos. I watched two and would like to know about your thoughts on membership sites. Check out mine above.

Lance,
Very interesting read, have bookmarked and will read again, as I am thinking of starting a membership site in the near future.
